About Focus on Solutions
 

Bill is the Co-Founder and Director of Training at Focus on Solutions. He is regarded as one of the leading experts in the Solution-Focused approach. Bill is the author of Solution-Focused Therapy (1998 / 2005 / 2012) and Solution-Focused Stress Counselling (2001). He co-edited The Handbook of Solution-Focused Therapy (2003) with Stephen Palmer and co-authored Solution-Focused Coaching Skills in Practice (2012) with Stephen Palmer and Helen Williams.

Steve Conlon

Steve Conlon has been using solution focused, systemic and outcome informed approaches for over 25 years in public, private and voluntary settings. Trained in both the UK and USA Steve has delivered courses nationally and internationally and is renowned for his dynamic, engaging and creative style. Steve set up the first solution focused - systemic degree programme specifically for mental health workers, he went on to become co-director of the M.A. in Solution Focused Therapy at Birmingham University. Steve is highly skilled in working with individuals, teams and organisations which seek to maximise their capacity, motivation and focus in order to create cultures of competence, capability and achievement for the benefit of both themselves and their clients.

Peter Creagh
(Dip. PC Counselling, Dip. Couns., Relate Cert. in Marital and Couples Counselling, MBACP (Accred.), Member Chartered IPD, BACP Registered Counsellor.

Peter Creagh is a visiting lecturer on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology course and MSc Counselling in Organisations course at the University of Wolverhampton. He has a wealth of experience in training and counselling.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and an Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. He has practiced as a RELATE counsellor for many years. Peter also has experience as a counsellor in an inner city FE College.

Peter uses the Solution-Focused approach, both in his private counselling practice and in his couples counselling at RELATE. He also finds it invaluable in his supervision of therapists working in a variety of settings, including education; health; a women and childrens’ refuge and two voluntary organisations - one offering counselling to children and young people and the other to survivors of rape.

Kidge Burns

Kidge uses the Solution Focused (SF) approach in a hospital setting. She works with clients who have acute or chronic health conditions. Kidge has trained graduates and health professionals throughout the UK in the Solution Focused approach and has presented her work at both national and international level. Kidge is the author of ‘Focus on Solutions: a health professionals guide’ (Wiley 2005). She has also contributed chapters on SF to a number of books.

Pam Morley

Pam has worked in a variety of mental health care settings including acute, psychiatric intensive care, forensic psychiatry and rehabilitation. She used the Solution Focused Brief approach when she was a member of a family therapy team. Currently, Pam is a Senior University Lecturer teaching on a variety of education programmes for health care professionals, and she also volunteers for a Birmingham based charity that provides counselling for individuals using the Solution Focused Approach.
